Go Ahead, Ask Me

While I have plenty of great things to write about, I can’t craft them well enough to be worthy of your attention because I’m preoccupied with end of the year stuff at work. I could easily not post but I don’t like that so what I’m going to do is to allow my readers to ask me questions. So, ask away.

Please remember that my children do read my blog so let’s keep it rated PG.

In anticipation of some questions, here are my answers:

To Smiley Face: No, we don’t need a dog.

To The Prodigal Son: No, I will not pay your car’s monthly bill.

To The Guy In The Middle: Yes, you will still attend Daddy’s school next year.

To The Family Genius: Yes, you still owe me a car wash.

To CJ: No, I will not buy that toy!

Your turn people.

  1. @Marelisa–We first met when she first visited the United States and we re-connected during my escapades in the Philippines.

    @Vered–Things just happen…

  1. Natural Said,

Do you choose your blogging friends the same way you choose your friends you associate with in
    person.

Do you give it any thought about the blogs you choose to comment on and the relationship
    you may be building?

  1. @RC–I’m paying for my son’s deductible right now so you’ll have to wait in line.

@Becky–Great idea Aunt Becky but I have to take my Babe with me and you might as well bring the Daver with you.

@Natural–Awesome question. I guess it’s the same way because with my blogging buddies, I found them and stuck with their blog because of their content. The same goes with my friends in person, I stay with them because of the content of their character. And I do give some thougths to the blogs that I visit and leave comment on.

It’s very important to me that the blog I visit do not have questionable content because my children visit the blogs that I visit.

First and foremost of course, I tend to gravitate to blogs that make me laugh and think at the same time.

  1. Joanna (really) Said,

  1. Rebecca Said,

I’m doing a “question” post starting tomorrow. I’m curious to see what questions people have. :)

  1. Chris -

Has blogging brought more happiness and transperancy in your family life? It seems that you’ve been able to convey your message effectively to your children at the same time making message a pleasure exchange of communication. Without a blog, do you think that it would have been harder to communicate with your children especially when it comes to some tough talk about their education, friends, career etc?

  1. @Joanna–Sure, as soon as you get a business degree to go along with your business attire.

@Robin–For a long time I’ve been curious about blogging, when I started reading other blogs, I told myself that I could do the same thing. What really got me interested is how the comments on blogs seem to take a life on its own. This piqued my interest and I wanted to see if I can write well enough to have people comment on my blog. So that’s how it all began.

@Tara R.–I’ve always love working with children even when I was still in High School. The classroom is really the only place where I feel I can do no wrong. Sometimes when everything around me is going crazy, the classroom is the only place that offers me solace.

If I could do any other job it would probably be a professional tennis player or a lounge singer.

@Shilpan–My wife and I have always had open communication with the children. It’s something that we really wanted to do since open communication wasn’t really practiced when we were growing up. My blog acts as a reflection or a re-run of what has already transpired.

  1. Ruthie Said,

Hi Chris! Some already may no this, and maybe I’m just clueless. But…how did you come up with your name of your blog? What does it mean? LOL

Ruthies last blog post..House Update - Another Before and After

  1. Ruthie Said,

Shoot! I tried to stop my post before it posted. I have a typo. I meant to type “know” instead of “no”. That’s what having four kids will do to ya!

Ruthies last blog post..House Update - Another Before and After

  1. @Ruthie–I should really write a post about the name of my blog. Wat da Wat is an expression that I use constantly around the house. I say “wat da?” all the time around the house to stop myself from cursing whenever my children do something crazy. Because I say this expression all the time, my children also picked-up on it. I just added the last wat so that the kids won’t put a curse word on the end of wat da…? It’s actually a funny sight when you see my 3 year old walk around the house saying wat da wat every time he sees something that he doesn’t understand.

Now, since most of my content is about my family adventures, then it’s only fitting to use our favorite expression as the title of my blog.

  1. Grandy Said,

You are funny Wat da Daddy!! I thought you were wanting us to ask questions so you could POST about them later. Now I have to go back and read your answers to make sure I was paying attention.

My question: (hoping it hasn’t been covered) If teaching was not a career option for you, what would have been your back-up choice?

  1. Hi Chris,

Do we get to see a picture of you with your haircut? Or better yet, one of you in your wife’s headband?

    What keeps you blogging?

Would you ever have one of your children write a guest post on your blog? (If they have already, I’ve missed it).

What will you tell your sons is the most important thing to remember about women?

    Kelly

  1. @Grandy–I would’ve loved to be a professional tennis player or a lounge singer, but realistically, I really wanted to be a pilot.

@Barbara Swafford–I’m searching a picture of me with long hair and I will take one with my haircut.

I keep blogging because it’s an exciting new realm to be in. My goodness, to be a part of this new culture and community is revolutionary.

Yes, eventually one of the kiddies will guest post. I’ve been asking the Family Genius to post but she’s just being too lazy to do it, they choose instead to lurk or leave sarcastic comments on my blog.

@Kelly–Hi! Glad to hear from you. I want my sons to always remember that the key to a family’s happiness is the well being of the mother. Now with regards to single women, I want them to see their mom and their sisters with every single woman they meet, meaning they need to know how to treat women with respect.

On a practical note, when dealing with women, all they have to know are three phrases:

Yes dear, You’re right and I’m sorry.

  1. Maya Said,

First of all: It’s great to see Dad’s blogging too! I think it’s great that you guys are so open and honest with your kids. I def will try to be that way with my twins.
When will you post a picture of the headband:?

  1. Why you blog? Is it just about the excitement and being part of the new culture or something beyond that?

  1. @Maya–Hi Maya thanks for dropping by. Fortunately none of the rugrats were brave enough to take a picture but since people have been asking (thanks to TFG for letting the secret out) I might arrange a phot shoot session.

@Alik–I blog because of the new culture but most importantly it will be something that my children can keep as a record of my thoughts when I’m long gone…Any other benefits that will come from it, notariety or monetarily, will be pure gravy.

  1. Hey, I just linked in from Dooce and this is a pretty cool blog you’ve got here Dad! I love that your kids are posting comments…they actually read it?? That’s awesome. Seems like you’ve got a good thing goin on!!
